Our Guiding Principles
Community News Publisher is organized around two key principles:

Communities should have ownership of their stories.
Communities should have a platform to tell their stories to as wide an audience as possible.

These principles come from the idea that the free flow of information is a cornerstone of democracy. CNP was designed to facilitate this flow of information by providing community organizations with a free resource for publishing your stories on the World Wide Web.

A goal of CNP is to connect organizations and communities in order to share information and insights with each other, forming a larger community. This networking helps to create a forum for dialogue, and for finding common ground. By leveraging this network, all members can strengthen their overall impact and become more successful in serving your communities.

This is Just the Beginning
To our knowledge, we are the first group to offer a free, feature-rich, Internet program that can be used by community groups to publish newsletters on the World Wide Web. Our development work is heavily underway and we plan to release CNP Version 1.0 in early 2008. At that time, we will rely on a group of “Pioneer Publishers” to help us beta test the system. After we complete this test drive, we will release CNP to all participants with an established account. So stay tuned for updates on our progress, and be sure to Sign-Up for an Account so that you’ll be ready for the roll-out.
